Exploring Redmond Town Center: A Culinary Map

When I was told that we’d be living at Redmond Town Center (RTC) for the summer as Microsoft Interns, one of the biggest selling points was its unbeatable proximity to a whole world of food.

RTC is not just a shopping center—it’s a walkable culinary playground, with dozens of restaurants, cafés, and cozy nooks all within a few steps of home. For someone like me who thrives on solo strolls, spontaneous dinners, and food as both nourishment and adventure, it couldn’t have been a better setup.

As I continue to settle into Redmond, one of my favorite evening rituals has become exploring the restaurants. A vibrant open-air space, it boasts over 20 diverse dining options—from casual bites to elevated fare—perfectly suited to both solo reflection and connecting with new friends.

Here’s a curated tour of what’s on offer, each with its own flavor and appeal:

1. #K‑Street KBBQ

Interactive Korean barbecue where you grill your own meats table-side. Ideal for group dinners or fun, hands-on date nights .

2. BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse

Classic American comfort: deep-dish pizza, handcrafted beer, and their famous Pizookies®. Casual, reliable, and a go-to for relaxed evenings.

3. Cold Stone Creamery

A sweet stop for custom ice‑cream creations—perfect for a little after-dinner indulgence .

4. Creperie de Paris

French-inspired crepes and café fare. A cozy option for breakfasts or snacks while walking the Center.

5. Dong Ting Chun

Casual Chinese spot offering staples like noodles and dumplings for a quick, satisfying meal.

6. Flatstick Pub

Bring your mini‑golf skills—or lack thereof—to this pub that mixes casual fun with beer and bar bites .

7. FrogLegs Culinary

A local stand-out for creative grub—highly rated and unique, with a quirky menu and artisanal vibes .

8. Fuji Steakhouse

Teppanyaki tableside cooking with live performance from chefs. An engaging culinary experience for a memorable date-night.

9. Jashn

Upscale Indian cuisine—less mentioned online, but part of the rich tapestry of flavors in the Center .

10. Just Poké

Fresh, build-your-own bowls perfect for a lighter, healthy lunch or dinner .

11. Kitanda Espresso & Açai

Brazilian-infused coffee, pastries, and açai bowls; ideal for a chilled Sunday morning or mid-day recharge .

12. Kizuki Ramen

Warm, comforting bowls of authentic Japanese ramen—great for cozy nights .

13. Matts’ Rotisserie & Oyster Lounge

My current favorite destination: a glowing oyster bar, wood-fired rotisserie, PNW-inspired menu, and hearty happy hour. Perfect for reflection and casual gatherings.

14. SAMA CELLARS

A recently opened wine bar—intimate, stylish, and ideal for quiet evening sips or a reflective night out .

15. Zio Sal

Family-style Italian in a warm atmosphere; a go-to when I’m craving pasta and cozy conversation .

🎯 To explore further…

Beyond the Center, there are other standout spots:

  • Tipsy Cow Burger Bar: solid for casual burgers .
  • Northwest Brewing Co. – Pint & Pie: local craft beers and pizzas.
  • Brown’s Stockyard Exchange: upscale American fare nearby.

And Rubinstein Bagels, now in Downtown Redmond, is a must-visit for sourdough bagels and morning pastries.

My Plan: Explore 5 Weeks, Many Plates

With just 5 weeks left of summer, I’m turning this into a fun—and delicious—personal project:

  • Weekly Goal: Visit two new spots each week, mixing casual and upscale.
  • Notebook Notes: Reflect on ambiance, menu, feel—how each place shapes my sense of place.
  • Share the Journey: Include mini-reviews or photos in next month’s newsletter.

Beyond the food, this is about rooting myself in this new city. Each bite tells a story of community-building, creativity, and the spaces that hold us while we learn, grow, and dream. I can’t wait to bring more of what I find here back to you—and to the work I’m building with the Ntha Foundation.

Stay tuned for mini dining reviews—and let me know if there’s one I shouldn’t miss!

All my love,
Ntha
