

On March 15, 2025, I had the honor of speaking at the Academic & Leadership Conference hosted by the College Leadership Forum alongside Malawi University of Science and Technology (MUST) and other partner universities. The theme, “Empowering College Students to Realize and Lead Malawi’s 2063 Vision Through Leadership, Innovation, and Collaboration”, was a timely discussion on the role of young leaders in shaping Malawi’s future.
This past weekend, I was invited to speak with STEM students from the Kamuzu University of Health Sciences, the Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences, the Malawi University of Science and Technology, and the University of Malawi. As I prepared to speak with the students on the theme Living as an Innovator, I reflected on my own entrepreneurial and professional journey—how I started, what I’ve built, and where I see innovation taking me and the next generation of creators.
Out of over 8.2 billion people globally, Africa is home to over 1.4 billion, with more than 60% of that being youth under the age of 25. This is not just a statistic—it’s an opportunity. While populations in the West are aging and declining, Africa is growing. This is an opportunity for Africa, but are we taking avantage of it?
Earlier in the year, I had the pleasure of joining Ruth Kulaisi on Zodiak TV’s Womanity Show to discuss the incredible journey of building the Ntha Foundation. During the interview, I shared the story of how the Ntha Foundation, and by extension the Kwathu Kollective came to be.
