I don’t drink much, but when I do – I often get my drinks from Afrivines Liqour Store. Besides the fact that I love the general experience the store has to offer – I also may have a bit of a bias, as, I (and my team) created this experience.
A few months ago, my best friend came up to me and said he wanted to open a liquor store with a focus creating an experience around wines. I was indifferent to the idea – because like I said, I don’t drink much; and have never seen myself going into the alcohol-selling business.
I however noted that this business venture was close to this guy’s heart – and decided to offer our services as By Ntha Media to brand and market the business. We have been in charge of the concept design – right from logo creation to interior design and experience execution.
It’s been 4 months since the business was launched – and I would like to think that, without bias, this is the best liquor store in Malawi – for various reasons as listed below:
1. The Experience!
We were very intentional in the creation of this experience. While branding this business; I wanted to create a spot for someone like me – had a long day at work, and looking for somewhere to relax and grab a drink on my way home; in a relaxed manner.
Afrivines gives you just that space – a middle between a liquor store and a bar – a place you can shop for your liquor; with the option to relax.
You can even open your drink and have a glass or two as you await traffic to calm down, before proceeding on your journey home.
2. Affordable Prices
For the experience Afrivines offers to its clients; the prices are relatively affordable. They may be slightly more expensive than your typical liquor store; but are definitely WAY cheaper than a bar where you buy by the shot. A small price, for the wonderful experience.
3. Shopping Online!
It being a digital age, we decided to provide a seamless online shopping experience. We are fully digital – giving you the option to shop for your drinks in the comfort of your home; and have your drinks delivered to you!
Payment at the moment is via mobile money, or on delivery. You can to pay in cash, via bank transfer, or via the POS.
4. Delivery Service
Did I say delivered to you? Yes DELIVERED TO YOU! Afrivines offers different arrangements to deliver drinks to clients safely in different locations of Lilongwe city.
We are committed to keeping our clients safe, and are willing to go the extra mile to ensure that this is so.
5. Special Offers
Afrivines has various offers which are executed through the week. There is #WineWednesday, #WhiskeyFriday and #CocktailSaturday – an array of activities to suit the needs of the different types of existent clientele.
6. Cocktail Saturdays
Of the special offers; Cocktail Saturday remains my favorite, because second to whiskey are margaritas, in my list of favorite drinks.
Cocktail Gang host the Cocktail Saturdays; and I’d try to convince you on why I love their cocktails; but why not let you come and get the experience for yourself?
