When I was told that weโd be living at Redmond Town Center (RTC) for the summer as Microsoft Interns, one of the biggest selling points was its unbeatable proximity to a whole world of food.
RTC is not just a shopping centerโitโs a walkable culinary playground, with dozens of restaurants, cafรฉs, and cozy nooks all within a few steps of home. For someone like me who thrives on solo strolls, spontaneous dinners, and food as both nourishment and adventure, it couldnโt have been a better setup.
As I continue to settle into Redmond, one of my favorite evening rituals has become exploring the restaurants. A vibrant open-air space, it boasts over 20 diverse dining optionsโfrom casual bites to elevated fareโperfectly suited to both solo reflection and connecting with new friends.
Hereโs a curated tour of what’s on offer, each with its own flavor and appeal:
Interactive Korean barbecue where you grill your own meats table-side. Ideal for group dinners or fun, hands-on date nights .
Classic American comfort: deep-dish pizza, handcrafted beer, and their famous Pizookiesยฎ. Casual, reliable, and a go-to for relaxed evenings.
A sweet stop for custom iceโcream creationsโperfect for a little after-dinner indulgence .
French-inspired crepes and cafรฉ fare. A cozy option for breakfasts or snacks while walking the Center.
Casual Chinese spot offering staples like noodles and dumplings for a quick, satisfying meal.
Bring your miniโgolf skillsโor lack thereofโto this pub that mixes casual fun with beer and bar bites .
A local stand-out for creative grubโhighly rated and unique, with a quirky menu and artisanal vibes .
Teppanyaki tableside cooking with live performance from chefs. An engaging culinary experience for a memorable date-night.
Upscale Indian cuisineโless mentioned online, but part of the rich tapestry of flavors in the Center .
Fresh, build-your-own bowls perfect for a lighter, healthy lunch or dinner .
Brazilian-infused coffee, pastries, and aรงai bowls; ideal for a chilled Sunday morning or mid-day recharge .
Warm, comforting bowls of authentic Japanese ramenโgreat for cozy nights .
My current favorite destination: a glowing oyster bar, wood-fired rotisserie, PNW-inspired menu, and hearty happy hour. Perfect for reflection and casual gatherings.
A recently opened wine barโintimate, stylish, and ideal for quiet evening sips or a reflective night out .
Family-style Italian in a warm atmosphere; a go-to when Iโm craving pasta and cozy conversation .

Beyond the Center, there are other standout spots:
And Rubinstein Bagels, now in Downtown Redmond, is a must-visit for sourdough bagels and morning pastries.
With just 5 weeks left of summer, Iโm turning this into a funโand deliciousโpersonal project:
Beyond the food, this is about rooting myself in this new city. Each bite tells a story of community-building, creativity, and the spaces that hold us while we learn, grow, and dream. I canโt wait to bring more of what I find here back to youโand to the work Iโm building with the Ntha Foundation.
Stay tuned for mini dining reviewsโand let me know if thereโs one I shouldn’t miss!
All my love,
Ntha
