Working out for Physical and Mental Health – The Fitness Factory Gym

Hey loves

It’s Saturday afternoon and I’m feeling mighty energized after a productive ab day at the gym.

I started working out about 2 years ago. I was then dating a fitness fanatic and I simply was inspired to work on my own body too. I started jogging, doing some squats and lunges here and there; and later committed to joining a gym.

Thinking of how hard I used to find exercises like lunges and squats back then makes me realise just how far I have come.

I was recently made the ambassador for The Fitness Factory Gym in Lilongwe. At the time I was representing another gym but honey the equipment at the Fitness Factory stole my heart.

Fitness to me is more than just about achieving superficial beauty standards. It’s a mind.soul.body connection.

This is the place I find my balance, my sanity, my healing, my discipline.

This is the place I commit to myself and push my mind, soul and body towards everything they are capable of being.

This is the place I work on being strong not only physically but also mentally.

I have always been slim. 4 years ago I weighed 45kgs, was extremely skinny and simply was unhappy with the way I looked. I started gaining a bit of weight when my late bloom weighed in. I went up to 52kgs. The weight went straight to – you guessed it, my ass. However, it also went to my stomach. I was happy with my bottom half – when I sucked in my tummy of course. I did not in any way hate my body at the time, but I just wanted to get to a point I could say “I love my body”. I am currently still the same weight, just redistributed and driven away from my midsection.

I have decided to share with you my fitness journey once a month, in partnership with Fitness Factory Gym at Sana Complex in Lilongwe – as trained by Jacob. If you’re searching for an efficient gym in Lilongwe with good equipment and skilled trainers, I recommend them. Jacob is a badass trainer – the damn best! Tell them I sent you 😉 and maybe we will run into each other and train together someday. If you see me in the gym, feel free to make me your workout partner for the day. I train everyday from 4pm to 6pm.

Yesterday I collaborated with Thokozani of @zanibeauty (IG), a new residential Malawian blogger that just moved back home from the USA to explore her creativity on homw ground. She is also a fitness fanatic and we went for a full-on gym day together.

It was a fullbody workout and we simply had a blast. I of course challenged her with the weights but I’ll tell you that she has stronger legs than me. Those thick genes 🙌!

She also taught me some Yoga. My strength is getting there but this balance could use some divine intervention!

If you’re free next weekend, come through for a Valentines day pamper session at the Cuneco Cafe Fusion in Lilongwe, city centre hosted by Thoko. She is such a gorgeous soul.

There will also be a light stretch and yoga session.

I’ll be posting more about the Fitness Factory. If you have questions about the gym or my fitness journey, please drop them down below and I will reply as soon as I can x

The membership prices at Fitness Factory Gym are MK2000 per day and MK25,000 per month. Affordable, right?

I’m wishing you the best in your fitness journey.

All my love,

Ntha
