INDIAN HEMP HAIR OILS FOR NATURAL HAIR | GLAM AND GLORY PRODUCTS REVIEW

By Ruth

“I love my hair because it’s a reflection of my soul. It’s dense, it’s kinky, it’s soft, its textured, it’s difficult, it’s easy and it’s fun. That’s why I love my hair.”

Tracee Ellis Ross

Someone once asked me what the big fuss about natural hair is, so l et’s talk natural hair, and natural hair products that might actually work on your hair.

MY NATURAL HAIR

Being natural means not using any chemicals to change the texture of your hair. If you have once used relaxers like I have, you know the hustle we went through just to straighten our hair. The burns, thin hair strands and constant heat damage.

The natural hair movement is about straying from chemicals and embracing our hair as African men and women.

I have grown my natural hair for about a year and three months now. Starting out on my natural hair journey was exciting but also very overwhelming. I had never really paid much attention to the way I was treating my hair and choosing the right products was a hustle. Everyone recommended a hair product that worked best for them. I went for what was trending at that time and hoped for growth.

After doing my research however, I figured that certain products were a no-no for me and so I settled for Cantu products until my hair started wanting more because the effectiveness of these products changed over time. Of recent, I have added a number of oils in my natural hair products collection as I am working towards growing thicker hair. I bought some vitamin E oil and Shea butter. I also tried the glam and glory hair oil and the hair and scalp conditioner.

I am a bit of a product junkie myself. One thing I always keep in mind when getting products is theingredients used. If you love your hair like I do, this is a must. Researchers have listed out several ingredients that cause allergies, dry hair or skin damage on most people and have concluded that when selecting products, the ingredients list should at least contain water, fatty alcohols, and humectants at a minimum.

Once you know your hair type it is easy to know what products work for you. What works for you might not work for me. In my case, shampoos and conditioners containing sulphates strip my hair of moisture and so I refrain from them.

GLAM AND GLORY HAIR OIL

I particularly like this oil because it has about five important oils that aid hair growth. Olive oil for instance adds softness and shine and it also acts as a deep conditioner. Almond oil reduces breakage and treats split ends. Coconut oil supports hair growth and treats dandruff. Cactus oil also promotes hair growth. Finally, Amla oil improves health scalp and reduces hair loss.

GLAM AND GLORY INDIAN HEMP HAIR AND SCALP CONDITIONER

This conditioner comes in a variety of bottles and main ingredients. They have the Indian hemp and coconut oil, the Indian hemp and avocado oil, Indian hemp and olive oil.

I find that this works for the good of those who happen to have allergies to certain ingredients or those who feel certain ingredients are not as effective on their hair. For instance, some people say coconut oil does not work on their hair. In that case they would opt for the other two.

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Apply on wash and dry hair.
  2. Gently massage the oil onto your hair and scalp.
  3. Apply from the scalp and work to the hair ends.
  4. For better results use regularly.

I would like to recommend glam and glory for catering for most of the problems we face in our different natural hair journeys. Most natural hair sisters and brothers complain about finding products that are affordable and sustainable. I definitely recommend these glam and glory hair products. They have everything you need to ensure your hair is moisturized, conditioned and growing.
