Firstly, welcome (back) to the By Ntha Newsletter. It feels like just yesterday that I decided I was introducing a newsletter section to my blog, and life got so busy, suddenly it is October. I’ve tried to bring you along on one or two happenings in the year, but the newsletter was on a pause for a while.
I come bearing good news: WE ARE BACK!
Being that this website is my biggest form of self-expression (and really the genesis of all my businesses), I am ever analysing what and how I wish to share. In reflecting, I realised I no longer have the interest or bandwidth to blog, and it makes sense to turn the blog fully into a newsletter.
What this means is that the structure of my post will evolve fully to newsletter quick snippets, with a few more reading materials and tips linked. I hope you find the things I share valuable, and I will also utilise this space to take your feedback on what knowledge I have that you’d wish to tap into.

All my love,
If you don’t know what “Girl Math” is, firstly congratulations on not being chronically online.
The Girl Math trend features women trading jokes about the internal calculations they make to explain their silly-but-sometimes-not-so-silly behavior.
โGirl mathโ is essentially the recognition that time, convenience, and money are interchangeable currencies,โ disability rights influencer Imani Barbarin wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
Itโs supposed to be a joke, and like all jokes, itโs not for everyone. You either understand the concept of girl math or you donโt, and itโs not worth getting too upset about if youโre in the latter camp.
You donโt necessarily need to know its heritage; that it comes during the 2023 Barbie-tinted Season of Girlhood, or on the heels of the โgirl dinnerโ trend, or that it echoes a 2021 social media motto that posits, simply, โThe girls that get it, get it.โ
Content creators, whether freelance or in-house, are in high demand. And thereโs no sign of that demand slowing down.
In this video, I discuss exactly what being a content creator means, and the different ways you can apply that title to yourself. I also share a step-by-step process on how to become a content creator – things you should do first; and as the series progresses, I will be sharing in detail which tools youโll need to get started.
On the 12th of October, 2023, I joined The Young Professional UK network, at the Ned Nomad in New York.
The conversation was on

Malawi National Womenโs Football Team (The Schorchers) are 2023 Southern Africa football champions following their 2-1 victory in a historic Cosafa final match against Zambia at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in South Africa.
Asimenye Simwaka put Malawi on the lead after 34 minutes in the first half of which the Scorchers were seen dominating much of the play. Zambia pushed to level up the scores, but nothing materialised.
Congratulations to The Scorchers!
