As I near the end of my days as an undergrad student, the days seem to only get busier and busier. Last night we celebrated four years of hard work and persistence in the spirit of the annual final year grand ball.
This is a night that people plan for for months, and I was no different. I had told my mom the kind of dress I wanted to have made; and she had so many opinions, reservations and comments about it. We were failing to reach common ground.
Mother and I, we are shoppaholics, always shopping. One day as we were moving around; she eyed a certain dress and showed to me saying “is this what you’ve been wanting?” I looked at the dress and said yes and carried on. It was exactly what I wanted. However, I was not interested in the dress as I am not really crazy about sequins. She was determined that I try it on and indeed I did. Suddenly she had less reservations about it than I did.
It fit perfectly from head to toe – never had to adjust a single thread. I guess we all now know how that story ended.
