I still remember the first front slit outfit I bought.
It was by chance. It was a burgundy dress – I got it exactly a year ago while on vacation in Nairobi. I was just obsessed with the way that dress hugged my body.
At the same time, I was absolutely in love with the idea of a front slit on an outfit which was not an evening gown. I could rock this during the day! So precious.
Months down the line, I never noticed, but I had bought over 5 more outfits (skits and dresses) with front slits.
I noticed this when I was doing my Instagram annual review. I do this at the end of every year, to understand what kind of content my audience likes – checking my most liked posts, the posts which brought in the most engagement (really stuff bloggers do).
Nearly all the pictures in which I was wearing an outfit with a front slit made it to my top 30 posts.
That confirmed to me that not only do I like them, but I would go so far as to generalise, and say the world, or at least the instagram world, does appreciate a little leg action.
This gorgeous turquoise skirt was a buy from Asos on my last shopping endeavor, and I was so pleased with the fit.
What drew me to it was the styling. At this point, I had multiple front slit outfits, and I was craving some edge. This skirt had that – edge! It is just everything a skirt should be, in my opinion.
When you stand straight, it covers back up diagonally, and opens up dramatically when you strut a leg. It screams ‘I’m classy, but I’m sexy’, and yes please!
