When I was 21, after I was done with Uni, I told my parents I wasnโt moving back home. They expected it, and they set me free. All my life I wanted to be a creative, and I knew home – Mangochi, wouldnโt offer me the growth I desired.

Having been with the Lions Club for several years, I started to question the work which we were doing. We were helping a lot of people – definitely; but I felt that some parts of our work were not sustainable.
For 2020, I only had one goal – and that was to establish the Nyenyezi Fellowship Programme. For 2021, I have a few more goals on my list.

The idea of tying the year 2020 to gratitude seems like such a stretch; but I also know that not everybody has had an entirely horrible year.
I’m looking back at the year that has been, and I do believe I have a lot to be grateful for – both personally and professionally.
As an individual, I have evolved a lot since I wrote and published By The End of Your Teens. What was a well-meaning, and very honest body of work, I am not sure I can fully stand by anymore.
