10 Reasons Why Sokha Hotels are the Best Hotels in Phnom Pehn

I spent my December in a place I could easily describe as heavenly – Sokha Phnom Pehn Hotel and Residence.

I have a lot of reasons to love this hotel, but here are just 10 reasons why:

1. The Peninsula Location
I am really taken by where exactly the Hotel is located. It is like a mini bay which means all around the Hotel is a body of water – The ChamTomuk river. This makes looking out from any side of the Hotel quite the scene.

Located on Chroy Changvar peninsula, opposite to the Royal Palace and approximately 13 km from Phnom Penh International Airport offering gorgeous views of the majestic Royal Palace, The Chaktomuk River and a wide sweeping view of the untouched green rural beauty of Chroy Changvar, Sokha Phnom Penh provides the peaceful, less busy side of the congested capital.

2. The Views
The Chamtomuk River View
The Night View of the City

The 20th Floor City View
The Royal Palace View

3. The Spacious Rooms

Sokha Phnom Penh Hotel boasts 549 spacious rooms and suites starting from 52 square metres, the largest deluxe rooms in the Kingdom, to 314 square metres for the Royal Sokha Suites. Decorated in contemporary elegance and balanced with Khmer hospitality, the hotel creates a very inviting feel for any stay.

Perfectly furnished with anything you would want to be found in a Hotel room by my standard, it truly lives up to the dream.

The Spacious Bathtub and Walk in Shower

I was totally in love with the bathrooms. The Bathtub is simply big enough for the perfect relaxation to cure the stress from any grueling day.

The Blackout Curtains

If you are a nap-believer and like to blackout during the day, these curtains would most certainly be your bestfriends. You can easily zone out and make “Night time” at any time of day. Howver, watch out! You could wake up at 11am thinking it is still night time!

The White Linens

I like me a clean comfortable bed! The beddings in the Hotel are always freshly washed and changed every single day. Yas sleep!

The Furniture

The decor is just elegant. Simply elegant!

The Adjoining Rooms

Some (If not all) the rooms are adjoined and actually make family rooms. Perfect for a vacation with the family or just friends.

4. The Jasmine Spa

The Gym

The cold and hot Jacuzzis

The Sauna and Steam Room

The massage rooms

The Swimming Pool

5. The Restaurants and Bars
Boasting a whole 11 Restaurants and Bars within the Hotel. There is an abundance of drinks and food ranging from Cambodian delicacies to international cuisines. When in Cambodia, get your seafood palette on!

The Lotus Resutaurant
The China House
Mohori Lounge
The Bei Cibo Restaurant
Takezono Restaurant
Thansur Restaurant
Champa Cafe
ChakTomuk PoolBar
Bokor Lounge and Bar
Mekong Bar
Tonle Sap Bar
STarDust KTV
Wave Club

6. The K Floor
The Karaoke Bar

7. The 19th Floor

The 19th floor is full of large Banquet halls which I believe would be perfect for weddings and celebrations.

8. The Hospitality (Staff)
The Concierge
The Front Desk
HouseKeeping

9. Proximity to the town

I consider the Hotel perfectly located not too far from anything within town. It is at most 20km away from any monumental place in Phnom Pehn. Additionally, it has the Airport Transfer and the Sokha Limousine Service.

10. WiFi
I am not talking about one WiFi connection. The hotel has multitudes of internet connections that you never have to stress about not being connected while in the hotel. Besides the Hotels WiFi which covers literally every metre of the location, there are also other connections in most of the restaurants within the Hotel.

I spent a whole month in the Hotel and still did not have enough time to explore the entire Hotel. From me to you, I would certainly recommend this hotel for a solitary or family get away. A Yes Yes Yes from me and most certainly 7/5 stars!
